GMB To Set Gas Strike Dates Tomorrow In Pensions Dispute

Senior GMB Stewards will meet at noon tomorrow in Halesowen to determine dates for industrial action in dispute with British Gas over pensions. Almost 6000 British Gas engineers who are GMB members voted 4-to-1 to take strike action to defend their pensions and by an even greater majority to take other forms of action as well.

Brian Strutton, GMB National Secretary said: “I expect we will be looking at a series of one-day stoppages and other working restrictions to take place over the next month. But I urge British Gas to respond positively to our proposals for avoiding this dispute.”
